On this 10 Day Wild Uganda Safari Experience – your journey will take you to the top Wildlife Parks in Uganda – Murchison Falls Park and Queen Elizabeth – add to that Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest and Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Our 10 Day Wild Uganda Safari Experience begins as we leave Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning and head north on our Safari toward Murchison Falls National Park. We arrive at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where we track Rhinos on foot with a guide getting close to the Rhinos for some great photo – opportunities.
We continue on to Murchison Falls Park stopping in Masindi town for Lunch at the oldest Hotel in Uganda – the Masindi Hotel.
The journey continues to Murchison Falls Park where we reach the River Nile and cross it by Ferry. Before checking in we take the first game drive on our 10 Day Wild Uganda Safari Experience where you are likely to see Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Antelopes, Giraffes, Warthogs, and Savanna Birds.

Fort Murchison overlooks the River Nile there is plenty of wildlife such as Elephants for you to see.

An early breakfast and then off for our second game drive – besides your driver-guide a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger is with us guiding you to where the animals are so that you have the best opportunity for viewing and picture-taking.
There is nothing like seeing some lion cubs with their mother, Giraffes grazing and Elephants moving across the savanna.
There is an abundance of wildlife found here such as Leopards, warthogs, hyenas, buffalo herds, antelopes of various kind – you will be amazed by your experience and of course there is lots of various savanna birds to see along the game drive.
After lunch it is one of the highlights of your Murchison Falls National Park Safari, the boat launch trip on the Nile. You will move up toward Murchison Falls viewing crocodiles, an abundance of hippos, elephants, buffaloes, antelopes, lots of birds including the fish eagle, storks and so much more.
The boat moves gently up the river, it is best to take some water along since it can get warm.
The Falls are an awesome display of the power of nature. The river is 50 meters wide above the falls, moves down through a 7 meter gorge and falls down 43 meters, the sound is deafening and the sight makes one realize how powerful nature can be. Murchison Falls is the most powerful waterfall in the world.
At the bottom of the waterfall we disembark and take a guided hike to the top of the falls – quite an experience as the ground shakes from the power of the waterfall and the mist from the falls refreshes you.
At the top of the falls you are met by your driver-guide and we cross the Nile by ferry – taking a sunset game drive with lots more wildlife to discover before returning to Fort Murchison for dinner and a quiet evening on our second night in the African Wilderness with its unique sounds.

Early Breakfast and we leave for Kibale Forest crossing the River Nile with the first ferry at 7 am meaning you have to be up a little early – this is very typical of safaris.
This is an 8 – 9 hour plus drive with a picnic lunch enrote your drive to Kibale forest National Park
Option: If you have some extra time, you can reduce the drive-time in one day by stopping and staying overnight at Lake Albert Lodge on the Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve down the scenic Western Rift Escarpment overlooking Lake Albert. This option would make this an 11 day safari.
Late afternoon arrival at Kibale Forest Camp – Check into Kibale Forest Camp which gives you the unique experience of a Tented Camp near Kibale Forest and Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary.
Each moderately priced tented cottage has a self-contained bathroom in the back, enjoy the quietness of the area at the edge of Kibale Forest in your comfortably furnished permanent tent.
This tours budget option are furnished tents with a platform and thatched roofs, solar lights and shared bath.
Upgrades can be done at an EXTRA charge – speak to Us if you would like to upgrade.

Breakfast at Kibale Forest Camp and off to Kibale Forest Headquarters for Chimpanzee Tracking. This is a guided walk and with 13 primates in the park, one usually finds at least 5 or six different types of primates.
Then there is the forest itself with its beauty and ruggedness. Butterflies and exotic birds abound in this park and the tracking experience takes in a lot more than Chimpanzee tracking, there is the beautiful and inspiring natural setting that is haven for wildlife, birds, plants and trees.
The chimpanzees you will encounter are habituated meaning that they are used to human beings.
Optional: Instead of Chimpanzee trekking where you are with a group of Chimpanzees for one hour, you can be on an all day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience
Afternoon Walk at Bigodi Swamp Wetlands which is next to Kibale Forest and you just might see chimpanzees again and of course lots of birds are found there – most notable is the “Large Blue Turaco..
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary is a community project that has been put together quite well and entrance and guide fees benefit the local community.
Dinner at the Kibale Forest Tented Camp

Breakfast at Kibale Forest Camp and we are taking a two-hour plus drive to Queen Elizabeth Park on time for check in at the Moderately priced Bush Lodge overlooking the Kazinga Channel.
The budget option for this tour are furnished tents with shared bath or Upgrade to a tented Cottage Banda at an EXTRA cost – if interested in upgrade, speak to Us.
Meals are the same for both moderate and budget option .
Afternoon game drive across the candelabra euphoria tree studded savannah, the vehicle has a pop-up roof so that you can stand and take better pictures.
Hopefully you will see lions, leopards, bush pigs, giant forest hogs, elephant herds, buffaloes, various species of antelopes, savannah birds, hyenas, monitor lizards, an occasional rock python and lots more.

Early risers breakfast ahead of your morning game drive – you can begin your first game drive at the crack of dawn which is about 6:30 am here – that is also the time you can pick up a Uganda Wildlife Authority Ranger to go with us. Mornings are also a time where you see more of the predators return from their night of prowling and there is nothing like a Savannah Sunrise.
Add on Options – Hot Air Balloon Safari – You can choose to add-on a Hot Air Balloon Safari which also has a Bush Breakfast afterwards.
Lion Tracking Research – is another option where you go with researchers in search of the collared lions. This is in cooperation with the Uganda Carnivore Project and Uganda Wildlife Association.
Banded Mongoose Research Project– this project takes place on the Mweya Peninsula and is on foot with Rangers and Researchers observing the habits and ways of the banded mongooses.
Afternoon: A Boat Safari ride on Kazinga Channel with the highest concentration of hippos in Africa.
This is a pleasant boat ride where you can get some great pictures of elephants, antelopes, crocodiles, monitor lizards, predators in late afternoon and buffaloes on shore. Hopefully you will get an open-mouthed hippo shot with your camera.

Breakfast and we are off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and the Buhoma area. We drive 2 1/2 hours south and turn off at the Ishasha region of the Park – the unvisited part of Queen Elizabeth Park – here we go on game drive to see the tree climbing lions of Ishasha – the best place in Africa to see tree-climbing lions.
Ishasha is not only the place for tree-climbing lions but other wildlife for you to see such as large herds of elephants, topi antelopes, buffalo herds, leopards – normally singular and much more in this region of Queen Elizabeth Park.
After visiting the Tree-Climbing Lions we have lunch at Savannah Resort and then after lunch continue to the Buhoma Area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where we check into Buhoma Community Rest Camp.
Self-Contained Tents with bath and a place where we have had clients meet gorillas even before they went on a gorilla trek.
The tents are furnished – have electricity and have a bed and there is a sitting area on each deck of tents. Bathroom is in the back of each tent.
Option – instead of Gorilla Trekking: Gorilla Trekking is about 5 hours in length, one hour with the gorillas. You can spend 4 hours with a Mountain Gorilla Group being habituated in the Rushaga Region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The cost for one permit is US$1500 versus US$600 for a normal gorilla tracking permit.

Early breakfast – pick up a packed lunch from Buhoma Community Rest Camp, you will need a Daypack, 2 liters of water, jeans, long-sleeved shirt, hat, sun-glasses, gardening gloves made of cotton to help you in pulling yourself up on branches and vines, a hat also comes in handy.
A light Rain-jacket and light hiking boots are best for your Gorilla Trek adventure. You can buy a walking stick and use a porter to carry your things if you so with (optional) – the latter two are optional and not included in safari price.
The Gorilla Trek can be 5 plus hours depending on which group you are tracking – gorillas move daily and before you even go on the trek – pre-trackers are out there locating your gorilla family that you have been assigned.
Return to Buhoma Community Rest Camp – relax or take an optional village walk with Guide through the local village and learn the local ways of living and local culture.

The Gorilla tracking (trekking) Safari ends and we shift to Lake Mburo: It is early breakfast and off to Lake Mburo National Park.
The perfect place to break a long journey at one of the most delightful places in Uganda. It is about 5 – 6 hours drive time to reach here, it is best we leave at 7 am for Lake Mburo.
We arrive at lunch time at Lake Mburo and check into Eagle’s Nest – high on a ridge overlooking Lake Mburo Park – rooms are tents with bath in back – dinner is prepared in a traditional way over open fire.

Afternoon Boat Ride on Lake Mburo where you will see hippos, crocodiles, otters, water birds, mammals coming to water.

Breakfast check out and embark on an enroute morning game drive across the rolling hilled savannah where you can see the large Eland and other antelopes, Giraffes, Burchell Zebras, occasional leopards.
After game drive we continue with the drive to Kampala – Entebbe.
Lunch Enroute at the Equator – dont forget to have your picture taken at the Equator.
In Mpambire we stop at the Royal Drum Makers where they have kept the tradition of drum making alive for hundreds of years.
Reach Kampala or Entebbe during the late afternoon for departure as our 10 Day Wild Uganda Safari Experience comes to end.
